What I'm Working On

Current focus areas across IT infrastructure, network operations, and cyber defense at NAWCTSD.

IT Infrastructure // GT621
Systems & Network Administration
Managing IT infrastructure and network operations for the GT621 division — keeping Navy training systems available, secure, and performing across a complex enterprise environment.
Cyber Defense // Modernization
Cyber Defense Posture Modernization
Assisting with the modernization of NAWCTSD's cyber defense posture and security monitoring capabilities — building toward more resilient detection and response for Navy training infrastructure.
Prior Role // Leadership
Deputy Division Head, GT63
Previously led the GT63 Cybersecurity Division as Deputy Division Head — supervising 8–10 federal civilians and 6 contractors, overseeing C2C/Zero Trust rollout across 300+ endpoints, and briefing executive leadership on cyber posture.
Prior Role // RMF
Lead ISSO — ATO Lifecycle
Served as Lead ISSO for Navy training systems, owning the full ATO lifecycle: NIST 800-53 control validation, VRAM tracking, POA&M management, and continuous monitoring for multiple systems simultaneously.
Home Lab // R&D
spork.local + UniFi Network
Home lab built on a UniFi network infrastructure with 3 active VMs on spork.local — expanding as new rack hardware arrives. Used for testing architectures and tooling before production evaluation.
Military // Army
CH-47F Chinook Crew Chief
U.S. Army veteran — CH-47F Chinook Crew Chief with two Afghanistan deployments. That operational discipline and mission focus carries into everything I do in IT and cybersecurity.
Background
From the flight line to the server room.
I came to IT and cybersecurity through a non-traditional path — U.S. Army CH-47F Chinook Crew Chief, two Afghanistan deployments, then a DoD Information Assurance Scholarship that kicked off my career in federal cyber. I've worked defensive cyber operations at the Army Cyber Protection Brigade, led security compliance and ATO programs at NAWCTSD, briefly served as Deputy Division Head overseeing enterprise cybersecurity, and now run IT infrastructure and network operations for a Navy training division. That background shapes how I work: disciplined, mission-focused, and always building toward the next level.
